Diane Elizabeth (Bartholomai) Monaco, 75, died peacefully at her home in Rockwood on February 28, 2026.
Diane was born March 21, 1950, in Connellsville, a daughter of the late Elizabeth (Peperak) and the late Anthony Bartholomai, Sr.
She was a graduate of Connellsville Area High School 1968 and was employed by Anchor Hocking Glass Co.
Diane married the late John E. Monaco, Jr., on June 11,1983 (2023).
She was a lifelong member of Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church and a member of the Laurel Highlands Snowmobile Club.
She loved riding her horses, hunting, snowmobiling, her furbabies Sammy and Lizzy, and watching the wildlife from her beautiful mountain home.
Diane is survived by her sister and exceptional and loving caregiver, Judy Zitney; her brother, Robert “Rock” Bartholomai; sister-in-law Jacqulyn (Holt) Bartholomai; special nieces, Tina Bartholomai and Beth (Bartholomai) Geary; nieces, Lisa Carpenter, Jodie Bartholomai, Jennifer Baldwin, Amy Zimmermann, Daneen Scarry, and Natalie Hughes; nephews, Bill Bartholomai, Matt Bartholomai, Gary Davis and Kurt Bartholomai, as well as numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and loving husband of 40 years, John E. Monaco, Jr., she was preceded in death by brothers, George “Bill” Bartholomai and Anthony “Dutch” Bartholomai, Jr.; sister-in-law, Marcia Bartholomai; brother-in-law, Thomas Zitney, and niece Sandy Brooks.
Diane and the family are deeply appreciative of the unwavering support and care by friend and neighbor Ed Baer, the UPMC Home Care nurses and caregivers, and the hospice staff of UPMC Family Hospice.
Family and friends will be received in the PAUL G. FINK FUNERAL HOME, INC. 418 North Pittsburgh Street Connellsville, PA 15425 on Wednesday from 2pm – 8pm and on Thursday from 8:30am until 9:30am when Prayers of Transfer will be held. The Mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow at Immaculate Conception R.C. Church, Connellsville at 10am with Fr. Peter Guardiano as Celebrant.
Committal services and interment will follow at St. Joseph R.C. Cemetery, Connellsville.
